Guide to PowerVPS Management in the GITC Customer Portal
This guide explains how you, as a GITC customer, can perform common VPS administration tasks such as restarting your VPS and creating a backup (snapshot). All steps are based on the current interface of the portal (August 2025).
Prerequisites – Logging in to the Customer Portal
- Open kunder.gitc.dk in your browser.
- Click “Log In / Register” at the top and enter your email and password to log in.
- Once logged in, you’ll see the admin menu on the left with items like Dashboard, Services, Account, etc.
Guide 1 – Restart Your VPS
- Navigate to your VPS services: Select Services → PowerVPS. You’ll see a list of your VPS servers.
- Open the details page: Click the name of the VPS you want to restart (e.g., MicroVPS).
- Initiate restart: Click the “Restart” button at the top right.
- Confirm or cancel: Click “OK” to confirm, or “Cancel” to abort the action.
Guide 2 – Create a Snapshot Backup of Your VPS
- Open the VPS details page: Follow steps 1–2 from Guide 1.
- Go to the “Snapshots” tab: Click the “Snapshots” menu item.
- Create a new snapshot: Click “Create a new snapshot”.
- Fill in the details and save:
- Enter a name and optional description.
- Choose whether to include the memory (RAM) state.
- Click “Create Snapshot”.
- Restore or delete snapshots: Use the table to restore or delete previous snapshots.
Guide 3 – Schedule Automatic Snapshots (Backup Plan)
- Go to the “Snapshot Scheduling” tab: Found under the Snapshots section.
- Create a new schedule: Click “Create new schedule”.
- Select days and time: Choose weekdays and set the time (hour and minute).
- Set how many snapshots to retain: The system will auto-delete older ones beyond this limit.
- Include memory state (optional): Tick the checkbox “Include memory state”.
- Save the schedule: Click “Save” to activate the schedule.
Additional Features
- Serial Console: Emergency access if SSH is unavailable.
- Network: Manage IPv4/IPv6 addresses and network interfaces.
- Storage (Disks): View and resize virtual disks.
- Logs: View logs of previous actions like start and reboot.
- Usage (Graphs): Visual charts of CPU, disk I/O, and network traffic.
- ISO List: Mount ISO files for OS installation or recovery.
With these guides, you can efficiently manage your VPS at GITC, including controlled reboots, snapshots, and automatic backup plans. Always verify your snapshots before making major changes to the server.
